Dubai International Financial Centre announces launch of 'DIFC Metaverse Platform'

On January 30, 2023, Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) announced the launch of the "DIFC Metaverse Platform".

The platform aims to attract and cultivate global talent in emerging technology fields to ensure Dubai's position as a global leader in the metaverse.

The DIFC metaverse platform will launch an accelerator program to establish a dedicated metaverse technology studio to promote the development of the creator community; The platform will also discuss the formulation and legislation of metaverse policies, covering aspects such as data, digital identity, and company law. In addition, the plan will promote the development of the metaverse community and explore how to enhance customers' metaverse experience.

The Metaverse Accelerator Program is the first program launched by the platform and will begin accepting applications this month. In the coming years, the program will attract over 500 applicants, and the organizers will cultivate the most promising 50 graduates to drive the development of the industry.

The plan will also help them find partners, connect with investors, and provide marketing support.

DIFC's metaverse platform is aligned with Dubai's metaverse strategy, which aims to increase Dubai's GDP by $4 billion, provide 40000 job opportunities by 2030, and attract 1000 blockchain and metaverse companies.
